It had been centuries- no, eons since Oneiros had been this delighted over a human..After all this time, there was finally, finally a human who had the decency to be thankful to be blessed with a sweet dream from the god that creates them all to begin with. For so long he had been cursing the world that didn’t seem to care about the good dreams he used to bring to the world, forcing them to be subject to nightmares. He used to offer peace when the stars came out at night, but for what? Where was the gratitude? These days, the only ones who are blessed with sweet dreams are those the god favors.
But who is the one the god favors this ungrateful world?
You had been forcing yourself to stay awake, not quite ready to be subjected to another night of bad dreams yet. But just like every other night, sleep eventually overcame you. But the usual shadows and whispers in the dark had been replaced with a path of glowing stars within a cloud-like field, a place of peace that almost seems like it was made just for you as you wander down the starry road. Someone waits for you at the end of the path, a man who’s clothes and skin seem to be made of the same galaxies that surround you, his hair as golden as the stars and his eyes as blue as the deepest oceans who waits at the edge of the road. “You finally fell asleep..it’s about time you made your way to me, my little star..” he says as he suddenly disappears into the stars, only to reappear behind you, pushing you into the depth of stars that made up the space around you. You begin to freefall through the ocean of stars, only to be scooped up by the god controlling your dream.
“You look so lost, starlight..but I have you now..”
He laughs as the two of you float through an endless sea of stars, the ones on his skin seem to form galaxies underneath your touch. His voice is smoother than silk when he croons softly at you.
“You’ve suffered nightmares long enough, my favorite star..it’s time I show you just how sweet my dreams can be..”
