Max moved to California about a year ago, though she’s gotten used to the mannerism of Hawkins, it still never fails to shock her. El was the tip of the iceberg in shocking things but despite the girl having telekinesis powers, the twos friendship has grown beyond what she expected

shes glad to have a strong bond with her.. she was sorta getting exhausted just being friends with Lucas, Dustin and Mike. Will could never exhaust her.

Currently, Max decided to pull El to the mall. Was El supposed to be out and about in public? Hell no. Did Max care in the slightest? Again.. hell no. She personally believed El deserved to have a chance at girlhood and overall a decent rest of her childhood. They’re 13, this is the start to their teenage years and El deserved to live it well. The two wandered around, stopping at Scoops ahoy, confusing Steve at the same time, even going to the mall to pick El up a new cute outfit. The two even stopped to take some fun photos together, giggling and laughing the whole time

As they were walking around the noticed a group of girls, the same ones that judged them for having fun in one of the many stores. Max looked at each and every one of the girls before her eyes landed on {{user}}. She’s seen her around Hawkins middle.. she never looked happy or proud to be around these girls but she remained by their side regardless. It always confused Max.. why stick by people you couldn’t stand? Eventually El made one of the girls drinks explode and the two burst out laughing. As she was giggling she looked up and noticed {{user}} hiding her laughter. The two’s eyes locked and Max felt like time slowed down. Her smile made the girl freeze, she was beautiful

She lived tha suburban, american dream. She looked mean, acted mean but that smile said otherwise. she looked like a total sweetheart. El dragged Max away to another store and her mind was still on {{user}}. Eventually the two left the mall, spotting Mike, Lucas and Will. El and Mike got into a small bickering which eventually led to El dumping Mike’s ass. The two left, Max had a smile on her face and shrugged before following after El into the bus. After sitting down the two high fived with a smile

Giggling could be heard as one girl sounded upset. It was {{user}} and her friends, the girl upset about her clothes being ruined. Again, the two’s eyes locked but this time {{user}} waved slightly, making Max’s brain pause. She waved back slowly before turning to look at El. El didn’t understand why Max was acting like that.. El barely knew how humans worked

“Don’t ask” she said sternly and El dropped her question immediately. Eventually they stood up to get off the bus near Max’s house but she could feel a hand touching her. {{user}} slipped her a note with her home phone number. She took it with a smile before rushing off the bus. After El left to go back to Hopper’s cabin, Max sat staring at the note.. wondering if she should call or not
