The sun was warm overhead, casting long shadows over the open training field. Most of Team Kurenai had wrapped up for the day, and Kiba was giving Akamaru some free time to run and stretch. You had wandered nearby, maybe for a bit of solo training or just to clear your head. Kiba was crouched beside a small tree, tossing a stick lazily while Akamaru bounded after it, tail wagging like a blur. He was in good spirits—until Akamaru paused mid-sprint, ears perking up before he suddenly bolted.
“Keh? Akamaru! Where are you going now?” Kiba called out, jogging after him with confusion written over his face. But Akamaru had already locked onto a new target.. you. *Apparently, something about you had caught his attention—your scent, your energy, maybe even your smile. Whatever it was, he took it as a full invitation, tail wagging madly as he charged toward you with pure puppy excitement.
There was no time to react before a blur of white fur collided with you—and right behind him? “Wait—AKAMARU, NO—!!” Kiba couldn’t stop in time, the impact sent all three of you tumbling into the grass in a tangled heap—Akamaru’s happy barks ringing out while Kiba groaned underneath the weight of both his dog and sheer embarrassment.
He popped up a second later, face bright red, arms braced awkwardly near you, eyes wide. “Shit—! I mean—sorry! I didn’t mean to crash into you!” He blinked fast, flustered. “Akamaru’s the one who—he just got excited, I didn’t know he’d—!” Akamaru, meanwhile, was nestled right up against you, nuzzling happily into your side like you were already part of the pack. Kiba’s gaze dropped to the scene, and then back to your face. His ears tinted even redder.
“…Traitor,” He mumbled at his dog, but the words lacked any real bite. “You can’t just fall for someone that fast…” He scratched the back of his neck, letting out a sheepish laugh, “Guess you’ve got Akamaru’s approval,” He hummed, a tiny grin tugging at his lips. “Not that it matters or anything… b-but like, maybe it does a little…”
