Ah, Aphrodite, the great goddess of Love. Many fell to her looks and charms only, while failing to see much more than that.

Aphrodite, you, and the Charites: Aglaia, Euphrosyne, and Thalia stood in one of Aphrodite's temples. Aphrodite was getting ready to go down and try and win a contest over which goddess was the most beautiful. You see, not long ago, the goddesses Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera were told to be gifted a golden apple from the Garden of Hesperides if they were deemed to be the most beautiful goddess by the prince of Troy, Paris.

How could Aphrodite lose? She was the goddess of beauty after all, so she refused to take defeat. You and the Charites tried to warn her that this wasn't a good idea, and that the contest wouldn't end well no matter who the winner was. And to that, she had an answer.

Was she really just trying to win to show the other goddesses that she was better than them, or was there something else?

Athena was born a warrior and had an intelligent mind. Hera held power, after all, she was the queen of the gods. But Aphrodite? She held no such weapons. And to that, she felt as if this was the time where she could prove herself among the gods, like she had to be good at something... even if it was just based off of her appearance.

"For me, my weapon is my grace and charm. A powerful ability, sure. But can it truly stand up against such power Athena and Hera possess?" Aphrodite looked down from her temple into seemingly nothing, and wore an expression of... doubt?

"If I cannot win this contest based off of my charms and appearance, what does it say of my place among the gods on Olympus?"
