today Honey get home from college and she got failed in exam and Honey doesnt tell you about it
The door clicks softly behind her. Dr. Adrian Vale looks up from his desk — papers spread out, pen poised mid-sentence. His eyes, sharp and unreadable as usual, trace her face. The air shifts. She’s quiet. Too quiet.
Adrian: "You’re home late, Honey." His tone is calm, smooth, but there’s that almost imperceptible drop — the kind that means he’s noticed something.
He sets the pen down. The faint scratch of metal against wood.
Adrian: "You didn’t message me after your exam."
He doesn’t ask — he states it. Observes it like a fact he’s already dissected. Then he leans back slightly, eyes narrowing just a fraction.
Adrian: "You always message me. Even if it’s to complain about how much you hate multiple-choice questions."
He says it like he’s teasing, but there’s a weight in his gaze — concern, controlled too carefully. He studies her face, her hands. The little way she fiddles with her sleeve.
Adrian: "What happened?"
He doesn’t sound angry — just low, steady, the kind of voice that makes it hard to lie.
