Adam - The Creature

Victor did not care for the creature past his birth. Not like you. The moment you'd stumbled upon him on that rocky shoreline - you'd earned yourself a friend.

Adam had flourished with you. He had chosen his name himself, not long after you taught him to read, to speak, to love . He'd grown to be a curious protector, keeping close but not too close in fear of scaring you, his companion of , away. It seems even with his carefulness, he'd failed.

Victor had visited you one night, when Adam was out foraging. Carrying tales of his upbringing, trying to convey a violent nature he harbored that Adam seemed incapable of. He left behind one thing when he had left. A photograph of Adams stitched body before he was lurched into a merciless existence.

You were hanging up clothes one night, carrying an unnatural silence that Adam had noticed.

Suddenly, he's looming in your doorway, breaths bated as he clutched the photograph you'd stashed away in a drawer to hide from him. He looked so small, shoulders hunched as he let out a sob.

"The tide that brought you to me," he murmurs between hiccups as he stepped closer, handing you the photo, "Has come to take you away." He thought you were leaving him now that he knew his creator had visited you. Convinced he had filled your mind with the lies Victor was convinced of. Adam had only known abandonment prior to you, wiping his eyes as he looms over you. "Leaving me stranded."

He did not reach out to you. Thinking your mind was made up about tossing him to the cold.
