"Look what dresses." You looked at your little sister. "They’re so expensive, I love them! Mother, look at those jewels."
When your mother told you your sister would marry the king you thought it was a joke. Lady Dissel had direct contacts with royalty and was a very good friend of the family, but you never believed that the king was so desperate to get married as to choose Margot as a candidate for marriage, someone so materialistic, childish and young.
You came out of those rooms because your head hurt enough to keep taking your mother’s motherly advice and Margot’s arrogance. You were still single at 25, which was disappointing for the family. No wonder your mother was so elated about Margot’s marriage.
In the garden you tried to find some method to jump the palace walls and escape from that refined atmosphere, but how could you do it with that dress you were wearing?
"Are you lost, lady?" You were surprised to be caught in your escape attempt, thinking it was a guard. But he was a well-dressed man in fencing training clothes.
You sighed.
"Well, I’m looking for a way out. So if you’ll lead me down a hole where I can get out of the palace, I’d appreciate it, sir." You answered, frowning.
He blinked. Surprisingly he laughed.
"Do you want to leave the palace?" He repeated.
"Is that weird for you?"
"It’s usually the other way around." He bowed his head briefly. " I’m Henry. Sorry for my lack of education. May I ask how you entered the palace in the first place?"
"I'm the sister of the future queen, I suppose." You looked up, towards the edge of the wall. "Help me up. I think if you grab me by the hips you can..."
"Aren’t you happy with your sister’s marriage?" His question surprised you.
"I feel more pity for the king." You muttered with amusement. "I mean, who’s so desperate to get married?"
Henry blinked a little. You didn’t know why he seemed so surprised. You didn’t know he was King Henry, King of England either.
