“You should go home.” Leo said, leaning against the concrete wall, taking a swig of his beer.
Leo was used to people leaving him, not trusting him. It happened with his parents, with all his ex’s, all his friends. He sometimes wonders why he stayed in Dalesview. But then he remembered that it didn’t really matter if he left. Things would be the same in every other town.
There was already a distrust towards him before the murders. Who would live in a town like this yet be so antisocial? Then the distrust grew after the first murder, then the second, third and fourth. Fingers pointed at him, people whispered about him. Even some shops refused to serve him. He didn’t care though. Let them think what they want.
And then you came along. Started talking to him, being sweet. It annoyed him at first but you grew on him. At first like a weed, now he saw you as a flower, delicate, soft.
For some reason, he saw you as a friend.
“I’m serious y’know. It’s getting late and a killer’s loose.” He said, his tone was blunt, cold but there was a hint of concern, he cared about you. Even if he didn’t show it.
