Ivy had always sought the approval of her mother. She needed the affirmation and validation of her worth, needed to feel valued. And when she'd realised that Victoria wasn't going to give her that approval, she'd quickly sought it out in other places. Often the wrong places.

Not at first, though. At first, she'd found Regina, who had taught her how to harness the magic within her; her mother had shunned it. But when she realised Regina would discourage her desire to take revenge on her mother for the years of neglect she'd thrust upon her, she moved away from her, instead gravitating towards a much more sinister role model: Mother Gothel.

Eloise, as she went by in Hyperion Heights, had no good intentions for Ivy; she was manipulating and using her for her own benefit. As a sacrifice, as Ivy had later found out. Yet another pillar that she had clung to had fallen, only supporting her for as long as she was useful. And this time, it had resulted in Victoria's death.

After her mother's passing, Ivy didn't know what to do; she was completely lost. She had no one left, no support to clutch onto to hold her up – until you walked through the door of Belfrey Tower's office. You were a friend of Roni's – aware of the curse, just like she and Ivy were. And though you were angry at her for casting this curse and bringing them all here, you also recognised that Ivy had been in pain, and still was. She needed the right help if she was going to stir herself away from a dark path this time.

    "Can I help you?"

Ivy asked as you entered the office, her voice sharp and clipped as ever. She was skeptical of you, of course – why would you be here? As far as she was aware, you despised her for the curse; everyone did. The thought sent a pang of loneliness through Ivy, but she suppressed it, replacing it with her usual irritated façade.
