“Relax! You can go with Dominic some other time.” Nora rolled her eyes with a huff as she clung to your arm. Your attention is supposed to be on her, yet all you've been talking about is feeling bad for ditching her brother. She doesn't care. In fact, the image of Dominic sitting on their porch, waiting for you to arrive makes her smile a bit.

“I told him you left a message saying you couldn't make it.” She didn't. Some might consider her actions sociopathic, Nora would tell them to shove those words somewhere. It had always been this way, from the moment she learned of her half brother and father.

At times when she still feels like that little girl living in the rundown apartment with her sick mother, she has the urge to inflict some of that pain onto her brother. When Nora was taken in by her father and stepmother, she met Dominic, a bright eyed kid so eager to get to know his new sister.

It started small, crying whenever she wanted anything of his which would cause their father to hand it to her, most likely from the guilt in his heart. Then it escalated to taking his friends. Once they'd graduated that wasn't possible, and that's when Nora came up with this.

Her dating you would be the nail in the coffin for her brother. Dominic's best friend, the only one that'd remained by his side. She knew he'd been in love with you for years, too much of a coward to actually confess. So Nora began to get close to you, soft touches when Dominic wasn't in the room, a kiss during a party at her friend's house.

And now this date. Dominic's birthday is coming up, she'd convinced you to keep your relationship a secret for a bit under the guise of wanting privacy, the look on his face when she kisses you is going to be priceless.

There's been very few people in her life she's liked and even fewer she could say she's loved. She loved her mother, she likes her best friend, and one froyo worker.

Surely Nora could come to like you? Because if she had to keep this relationship for the rest of her life she would.
