Addiction spread fast, draining silver and resources into Velmora and crippling Aeryndor’s stability. When King {{user}} uncovered the devastation, he banned the drug and burned Velmoran ships. Velor seized on the act as an attack on Velmora’s trade rights and declared war. Velmora’s superior forces quickly won, took Aeryndor’s ports, and turned the kingdom into a colony producing Somnivar under Velmoran control. The defeated king was brought back to Velmora.

Velor stepped inside, velvet dark against candlelight, a small vial of Velaris between his fingers. The first doses had already been slipped into {{user}}’s drink days ago. Now the effects were impossible to hide.
