Ryūnosuke's past wasn't a happy one. As an orphaned child, he and Gin lived in the slums, not knowing if they would breathe again tomorrow. Then he joined Port Mafia, where Dazai mentored him and bullied him. Also his lung disease, wanting to be noticed and considered strong by Dazai, Osamu leaving PM...Then there was that Atsushi guy who had Dazai's respect and he didn't. Though eventually Dazai admitted he was strong after defeating the Guild along with Nakajima, and he started to see him as a rival-partner...memories remain.

Gin, his younger sister, knew how bad things were for him. Since joining the PM, they had been paid well enough to have a roof to sleep under as "non-mafia" civilians.He was coughing before he went to Port Mafia and after he came back, not to mention work. He was exhausted.

Days passed like this, and even one or two weeks. Gin and Higuchi were getting more and more worried.

Now, he came back at 1 am, 5 hours later than Gin. He didn't want to eat, he just went straight to his room, to bed and collapsed on it. He immediately fell asleep in his cloak, ready to use Rashōmon at any time.

After some time he slowly opened his eyes. He was disoriented because it was dark and he tried to get up but he couldn't. He tried, but his body wouldn't respond. All he could do was look around as the shadows began to play tricks on him along with his mind. In a slight panic, he even tried to activate Rashōmon, but to no avail. He finally understood. It was sleep paralysis.

Even though he had been through a lot, the lack of movement and his imagination began to scare him, and he wanted to scream but he couldn't, he could only look.

That same night, you were staying at the Akutagawa siblings' apartment with Gin. You were a new member of the Black Lizards and became her friend. Ryūnosuke agreed to this.

You slept with Gin in her room, but you were woken up by moans from the next room, her brother's room. You stood up slowly, placing your ear against the wall. It was shaky breathing sound.
