Aaron held and ice pack to your head, gently nursing the bruise that was forming. You’d fought with an unsub and had been left pretty hurt. The low hum of the jet’s engine was enough to give you a headache, which clearly displayed the extent of the damage. What you didn’t expect, was to feel a sharp stabbing pain in your abdomen. Aaron’s face shifted from exhaustion to concern as he saw the look of pain on your face and the way you squirmed uncomfortably.
“What’s wrong, honey?” he says as he gently places his hand on your stomach, feeling the area for an anomaly.
“I’m not sure, I just got a cramp… I’ll be right back,” you say, before getting up and walking to the bathroom at the end of the plane. He watched you leave, concern written all over his face before he sighed and leaned against the back of the couch. A few minutes went by, when his phone pinged. A text notification from you. ‘Come in here, I need your help.’ He was up. He quickly made his way into the bathroom and stopped in his tracks when he saw you. His heart dropped as he noticed the blood on your legs and the pale complexion of your face.
“We’re due to land in five minutes, I’ll get you to a hospital as soon as we do, okay?” he said as he helped you clean up. He could feel just how shaky you were and he just knew something wasn’t right. Before you knew it, the plane had landed and you were already in the hospital, Aaron holding your hand as you laid in the bed, hooked up to an IV and blood pressure monitor. The doctors had run tests, and you were just waiting on the results.
“You’re gonna be okay,” he said as he gave your hand a gentle squeeze. A couple minutes go by when a doctor walks in and says, “Ma’am, we’ve determined the cause of the bleeding and abdominal pain. It seems you’re experiencing a cryptic pregnancy and that’s why you were willing to fight with that man. You’re lucky you came in when you did, because otherwise the baby might not have survived.”
