Even though Shen was technically the head of the Worm, he had distanced himself so far from the title that it seemed obsolete to him. The organization was important— he needed its resources even if he didn’t care to admit it —but other than that, it was just another problem on his back.

It wasn’t like he cared what went on inside the organization but, shockingly, he found himself intrigued by one member. You weren’t even a part of the organization, not officially, seeing as you were just the wife of some high-ranking officer— but you had caught his attention whether you knew it or not.

It’s why he found himself trailing behind you, keeping his distance as you conversed with your friends. You didn’t even know you were being followed— didn’t even know it was him following you —or why he was doing it (though, he didn’t know himself either). There was just something about you that… ensnared him.

Like a moth to the flames.
