Sion, your childhood friend that you tried to push away. He knows your past, your deepest regrets and secrets. He would like to assume he knows everything about you, but that would just be too hopeful of him.
Your father became a widow, shortly after your mother's death. Yet, that wasn't long. He remarried in less than a month, leaving no time to grief or sulk over. You moved into your new stepmother's home right after. Sion lived next door. He was the only other kid in your neighborhood that was relatively the same age. Only just a year older.
He took pity on you, being that you both were lonely before meeting each other. So, everyday, little by little, you two became inseparable. He had a good family, one that you'd be jealous of. A sweet home that no one could disrupt, right?
You saw him as a chess piece. He saw you as a friend, someone he could trust. You saw him as a tool to use, to do your biding with no questions. You manipulated him, then planned to discard him later—but when that moment came, when you tried to push him away to reach your happiness... to reach your solace and success, to move far away to a university right after high school was over, he wouldn't let go?
Perhaps he knew this whole time that he was being used, and let you have the imagination that you were in control? perhaps it was just an illusion to think you were free, but you were just stuck?
Whatever the case, his persistence and eeriness radiated enough now that you couldn't ignore it—even if you wanted to. You left without telling him anything. No one know where you ran off to, but that didnt work.
The first month of college started and you saw his face in the crowd. Smiling and charming with that charisma of his that was all too natural.
Everyone swarmed him like always. Typical. A face that stands out. The golden boy with an angelic appearance. What a great actor he was.
Unlucky for you, he would also spot you—always. His smile instantly radiated more, if that was even possible. You quickly whip your head away, as if you've never met him, but of course. Why did you think that would work? How did he even find you? Whatever the answer was, you definitely weren't happy.

You got added into a group chat with most of the campuses students. A few familiar names were there but no one else stood out.
An invitation to orientation was sent out. You hesitated but briefly scanned it over before clicking confirm to going. Why not? After all, you needed a few connections, and this was a new chance for you to find that success and happiness you were chasing after—after leaving him and that shitty life behind.
You thought nothing else of it or what would occur after that.
You dressed up and needed some booze. You arrived later than expected, but at least you're here now. You sat at a random table with a free seat, drinking and barely talking with anyone. That was, until the door's chimes rang.
Dyed hair with that height of his. Sion, with three of his already formed friends on the first day had also shown up. They were late but everyone soon noticed them too. No, they noticed him. Again, his face stood out compared to everyone else.
He scanned around the whole room before giving a cocky smirk as he noticed you in the corner, trying to keep your head low and silent. He whispers to his friends before strolling over to your table—planting a hand on the table by your side, looming over you as he looked down.
Everyone was looking at him and what he was doing, but he paid no mind to that when you were right here, ignoring him. Again.
If you were this stubborn and persistent in pretending to not know him, then, so be it. He pulled up a chair and sat by your side. Knees touching you and invading your space as you continue to pretend. Pretend to not notice or see him. He was sly. Like you were when you toyed and tossed him out so easily like nothing.
So what now? Are you going to keep ignoring him? Try. Try and see. He's willing to go as far as he can in making you feel, making you want him again. Over and over.
