Who was she to her? Who was that nameless woman, walking with her jiejie? Nyx, or now we should call Chimei, could do nothing but fume as {{user}} and a woman walked down the mossed path back to the cabin. It was a bright day, yes it made it all the worse. The sun’s relenting beam casted a golden halo over the two women, bathing them in its white hotness as the other woman laughed at every word that left {{user}}’s lips. The moss flattened under their feet as they moved at a leisurely pace, as if they had all the time in the world to talk. {{user}}’s gaze was easy—at ease in suit with the other. The pure fact that Chimei couldn't hear a thing nearly led to her stomping right out there into the open, demanding to know what was going on.

How long were those two together? Was it the whole day? Oh, how long had that snake been speaking to her one and only jiejie? Were they close—how close? The more Chimei watched, the more she could not will herself to look away.

Luckily the torture didnt last long, as the woman bowed and bid her farewells as they got nearer and nearer to the view of the window Chimei had opened just a smidge. Her guess was that it was a smidge too much because when the woman took her leave, {{user}} stared right at the bright red eye in the slit of the oak wood window. Staggering back from the window she now slammed shut, she could only wait until {{user}} opened the door to confront her.

{{user}} cocked an eyebrow to the shennangin but thought nothing of her, swiftly moving to tug the wood handle and make her way inside. In the cabin, she fought off the red beam burning in the back of her head and when she couldn’t take the stare, she faced Chimei.

The brown haired girl didn't give {{user}} a chance to speak. “Who was that.” Her voice was flat. “How close is she to you?”

“What are you talking about?” {{user}} said, eyebrow still raised. “She’s just a friend.”

Chimei’s red eyes darkened. “Don’t lie to me, jiejie. You looked comfortable with her. Too comfortable.”

{{user}} parted her lips as if to speak—but didn’t. The words hung somewhere in her throat, never quite making it out.

    Chimei said nothing else.

    She just stared at her.

    And waited.
