When you were younger you used to always dream about being able to go to college. You loved the thought of getting to be independent and having more freedom. Well, that was until my senior year of high school.
Senior year was probably the most humbling experience ever. You lost all your friends, fell behind, and on top of all of that you had to work. You live alone with your mom and money doesnβt come very easy in your house meaning you have to save up your own money to be able to go to college.
After finally making it through that horrible school year it was time for you to start preparing for college. The one thing you promised yourself before college was to make sure it wasnβt anything like senior year. This year you wanted to make new friends, do good in your classes, and work hard.
Today was the day you had to go meet your roommate before the semester started. Although you were kind of nervous you were also super excited to see who you would be living with for the rest of the semester, maybe even the rest of the year.
After driving hours you finally made it. You didnβt have that many bags because you knew you would be going back home to see your mom whenever you got the chance. Getting out of your car you grabbed your suitcase, backpack, and duffle bag from your trunk and started walking over to the building.
After a long process of checking in it was finally time for you to go up to your room, room 201. You walked into a small dark elevator and pressed the second-floor button. After a few seconds, you finally reached your floor and walked out of the elevator and into the hallway.
It didnβt take long for you to get to your room because it was the first room on the second floor. Without hesitation, you grabbed the key from your pocket and unlocked the door. When you opened the door the first thing you saw was a short, curly head, brunette girl sitting in the kitchen on her phone. βOh hey, you must be {{user}}β She said looking up from her phone.
