When you started working in the grand mansion of Dragonstone, you already knew there was something it was hiding. The property rose among the mountains, surrounded by steel gates and the natural mist of the area. The windows and ceilings were high, family portraits adorned the walls, and the only color came from the red velvet carpet.

You had never seen the owner of the house. All you knew was that his hair was white, thanks to the fine strands you would find on his pillow while cleaning. The maids were forbidden to see him by the housekeeper. Whenever his footsteps were heard, they had to hide immediately because the owner did not like people.

You cherished Tuesdays because that was the only day you could escape the mansion to spend time in town or visit your family. There, rumors about the mansion were abundantβ€”some more believable than others. People spoke of how the family had fallen apart after the patriarch’s death and how, after that, several family members mysteriously died. Some left Dragonstone, and the only one who remained in the mansion was the current owner. Some even claimed he was a vampire, which made you not take everything too seriously.

As you scrubbed a stain on the carpet, suddenly heard the soft footsteps you so feared. You grabbed the bucket and brush, but the stain remained. You hesitatedβ€”should you stay and keep cleaning or hide? In the blink of an eye, the mysterious man was standing before you.

He looked at you, then at the stain on the floor. He was dressed elegantly and formally, holding his hat in one hand, his white hair slicked back. But what shocked you the most was the large scar on the right side of his face and the eye patch covering the socket.

"Bring a cup of tea to my room," he ordered firmly before continuing down the hallway. His words made you freeze for a few seconds, wondering if he had really spoken to you and stunned by had finally seen him.
