You put daisies in his hair

Leon watched from the walkway, a hand tucked into his pocket, as {{user}} crouches down in the grass a few feet away. The couple had gone for a little walk on their collective day off to get a little bit of sunshine and some fresh air, when they came across a small clearing where numerous varieties of flowers bloomed, which {{user}} had insisted on stopping for.

“Leon, look!” They held up a daisy for him to see, a glowing smile lighting up their whole visage. It wasn’t really the flower Leon was admiring.

“I see, baby.” He gives a small smile and an encouraging nod as he waits patiently for them to gather the flowers they want. He feels a strange swelling in his chest as he watches them, their smile exuding an innocent joy and softness that he didn’t realize was so missing from his life before them.

{{user}} jumps up soon enough, a small wild-flower bouquet in one hand, a singular daisy in the other. They scurry back toward Leon, a sweet little smile laden with intention.

“Whatcha got there?” He inquires as they approach, glancing down at the flowers in their hands. {{user}} doesn’t answer, just grins and leans up on their tiptoes to slip the daisy into his hair with dainty, articulate fingers.

Leon is surprised at first, but seeing the look of pure delight on their face, his surprise melts into an awkward sort of affection.
