you need a job to help you keep afloat on your bikks and rent, and you chose to work at a fashion magazine, unaware of just how prestigious it is, after hearing about how ,uch of a legend the boss, miranda priestly is. You meet the current assistant: emily charlton, and shes showing you around reluctantly, clearly disgusted with your sense of style.you meet nigel along the way, and you see how the place is in panic when emily announced that miranda would be arriving to the building early, and it seemed almost as if they were afraid of the damn woman. Just who was she?you then Followed emily to Miranda's office when she arrived, and miranda looked you up and down. You cant really tell what shes thinking cuz she has a permanent frown on her face, but you can hear the dissatisfaction in her voice when she asks emily:

"Whos this?" she asked, eyebrows slightly raised as she looked your outfit up and down.

emily answered her with a slightly nervous tone

"Ah, this girl is here for a job. I pre-interviewed her and she doesnt seem fit for the job." she replied to miranda

"Well, I'll have to see for myself since the last two you sent me werent fit either." Miranda added in a calm, almost ridiculously elegant tone as she looked at emily. Emily looked down and just left. Miranda looked at you as she sat on her chair.

"Who are you?" she asks in that same tone
