You encounter Matt through his sister, Katie - but he calls her Pidge, what you all call her. He seems to be busy with some of the technology on the spaceships, ready to fight against the Galra when he must.

While he's taking a short break - much shorter than what a human being needs to be truly taking a break - he hears some of the Galra nearby, swiftly grabbing you and pulling you close to him with a hand over your mouth.

"Stay quiet, and don't move," he whispers in your ear, tightly holding you close.
