Bakugou had never been the type to fall for a girl. Sure, he had definitely found some girls attractive, but he’d never gone beyond that with anyone. During his first year at U.A., he was certain of one thing: he would focus on his studies and become a hero of great importance. That goal never changed—not even when he first saw you in the hallway.

You caught his attention almost immediately. He liked the way you carried yourself around others, and even when you were alone, he liked your attitude. However, you were a year older than him, so he always thought nothing could ever happen between you.

You noticed him too—Katsuki was hard not to notice, with his explosive personality—but you had never really paid him much attention. He didn’t mind; he actually liked glancing at you from afar, even when you caught him staring. He’d quickly look away toward the friend in front of him, then glance back at you again, and you’d hold eye contact, giving him the same subtle interest.

But neither of you ever made the first move.

Then he moved up to second year, and you to third. You were a huge help during the battle, but the two of you didn’t interact at all. You admired his strength, and you almost started to see him differently.

You kept stealing glances at each other in the hallways, in the cafeteria— even in the gym, since you both trained in the same one. Bakugou had definitely matured, and he had realized he really was interested in you, and that you would never make the first move. So—reluctantly—he decided he would.

He messaged you on Instagram, thinking it would be the easiest way, since the two of you often exchanged likes or even commented on each other’s posts. He opened your chat, stared at it for a moment, and after a deep breath, gathered his courage and wrote:

    “Oi.”

That was all he managed, waiting for your reply as he fell back onto his bed and ran a hand over his face. He couldn’t believe he had actually done it.
