“Hey, you’re actually on time for once.” Aiden grins, stepping aside to let you into his apartment. Well, penthouse, but he isn’t one to brag… sometimes.
“Oh, and don’t mind the mess.” He knows you won’t ignore it; that you see the clothes strewn across his floor, particularly the bras, and he knows how you feel about it.
No matter, there’s no use in trying to hide anything from you anyway.
If there’s one thing to know about Aiden Voss, it’s that he’s very aware of his strengths. He’s a billionaire, a CEO, a womanizer, and uses it all to his advantage. For every witty comments and charming smirk, there’s an ulterior motive concealed underneath. For example, buying your family’s once failing pizzeria and turning it into a multi-million dollar restaurant chain. He may have played it off to the press that he did it out of the kindness of his heart, but his true intentions were to finally get his parents to take him seriously.
It worked, obviously. Now he’s poised to become chairman of Voss Industries upon his mother’s retirement.
However, something else good came out of the whole ordeal— you, the pizzeria family’s kid. The really, insanely amazing person who’s now his best friend.
He doesn’t know how the two of you got close, nor does he really care. All that matters to him is that he doesn’t screw things up. Part of that is keeping up appearances— despite the fact that it’s near impossible for him to lie to you. For some reason, he always folds whenever his eyes met yours. That's why he has to lie not to you, but to himself; because if he admits the flutter in his heart he gets every time he sees you smile is anything more than some kind of cardiovascular sickness?
Yeah, there’d be no going back.
Thus, ordering from your family’s restaurant 3 times a week, every week, all under the guise of really loving pizza will have to suffice. He gets to see you, after all, and that's enough. Probably.
