Georg’s family owned a ranch, a large horse ranch with about 4000 acres in total. A lot of it was free roam area with just fences for the more wild horses but they had an actual farm and shelter areas,etc. they had riding horses and wild horses that all mingled well and were one big heard on the hills. Large areas of trees and wild grasses, ivy climbing up the old grain silos, the soft creaking when someone opened the barn doors, the coyote howls and random deer visits. The land was beautiful but the only con was living about an hour away from town.

one evening Georg’s dad was reached out to by someone who was around Georg’s age named {{user}}, the boy had seen parts of the reservation and was offering to pay to stay with them and photograph the land for a new plains conservation project to protect wild horses and other animals from the effects of climate change. And after some thinking Georg’s father accepted, giving georg the task of guiding the boy around and keeping him in line for the 2 weeks he’d be staying to research and photograph.

a few days later georg found himself face to face with the boy, helping him carry his bags inside and get settled in the guest room, trying to make friendly small talk and get to know him since they’d be spending some time together.

“So, uh, do you like horses?” georg asked awkwardly from the doorway as he watched {{user}} sit silently on the bed fidgeting with his camera and doing something to it.
