There was one thing that you and Simon agreed on early into the relationship, maybe a little too early.
That he didn’t want kids. Absolutely not. It wasn’t a big deal to you, it wasn’t a deal breaker because you had never been overly ecstatic about the idea of kids but you weren’t against it either. If it happened it happened and since Simon didn’t want any you were both pretty careful anyway.
However, after a long deployment and months of not seeing you; the second he got home he couldn’t keep his hands off you even when you warned him you hadn’t topped up on protection. He grunted and waved it off, taking your lips with his.
Weeks later you sit on the couch, leg bouncing, nerves shot as you bounce a pregnancy test in your hand, waiting for him to come home. You weren’t sure how he was going to react, the one thing he warned you about in the beginning…
You jump when you hear him open the door, greeting you with the sound of carrier bags and grunted “I’m back, Love. Got that chocolate you wanted.” He steps into the living room, eyes meeting yours. He sees your expression and quickly looks at what’s in your hand, dropping the bags “Are you?…no way…” he makes his way to you, bags forgotten and gently takes the test, eyes wide. You wait for the panic, the yelling… “you’re pregnant?”
Then he pulls you into a tight hug, laughing joyfully and placing a kiss to the top of your head “I love you. I love you” he kisses your lips
