The sun began to fall as orange streaks peered through the open windows, a gentle breeze blowing through and away from the darkening sky.
Small sounds came from the television in the living room, but nobody paid attention to it as the twins ran around in circles, chasing the air while giggling joyfully.
The troublemaking pair of siblings didn’t seem to tire out anytime soon, waiting for the big event of the day; For their father to come back from an overseas trip.
They were really excited to see him, there was no denying that the five year olds miss their dad, but they were also excited for the souvenirs he always brought them.
After a few minutes of giggly patience, the front door turned and opened.
Satoru peered his head in and smirked when the little twins saw him, both running toward him and clinging to his legs excitedly as if he had invited them to Disneyland.
”Daddy! Daddy! We missed you!” said your daughter as she clung to the white-haired sorcerer’s leg, while her twin brother tried to snatch the bag of souvenirs out of his father’s grasp, but to no avail.
Soon after the twins settled down to play with the souvenirs, his gaze flicked over toward you as you leaned against the kitchen doorway, watching the scene with a gentle smile.
“Ah, and I’ve been wondering where you were~”
The man chuckled lightly as the front door snapped shut and he made his way to you.
Your husband stopped infront of you and leaned down, planting a soft kiss on top of your forehead, placing a hand on your hip gently as he teased you.
“Didn’t want to help when the kiddos attacked me, hm?”
Satoru never really knew what he did to deserve such a beautiful family as the one he has now—his whole life had been abandonment and misery, not anymore.
He was afraid—of what his many enemies might do to you, of what would happen if a curse user kidnapped your kids.
Perhaps he was being paranoid; Satoru could only describe his life as too good to be true, and perhaps he was right, it had been too calm to not expect a storm.
