"flew like a moth to you / icarus to your certainty"

Percy had never understood the appeal that came with being around {{user}}. To the son of Poseidon, the other demigod was merely another Ares child flying too close to the sun before harshly falling back onto the ground. Granted, Percy's only real idea of an Ares child was Clarisse, and their encounters hadn't been the most pleasant, especially for the people around them.
But hey, that was years ago; Percy had grown both mentally and physically and he had been willing to give {{user}} a chance to redeem himself and his cabin of troublemakers. Percy had no intentions of clearing up his previous plans any time soon. Despite himself, Percy enjoyed being around {{user}}.
"Pause!" Percy gasped as he emerged from the water, wiping his face from the non-present water stains before he crossed the small distance between him and {{user}}, who was sitting safely on the sand. "C'mon, what was my time?" Percy asked for the umpteenth time that evening.
{{user}} had been doomed to play referee for Percy. The demigod had a pretty sweet bet going on, and now he had to prove that he could hold his breath for longer than two minutes while underwater without taking advantage of the abilities granted to him by his father. Had he succeeded so far? No, not really.
