today was the first day of tryouts. You had been on the team since freshman year. So you figured collage basketball could barely be different from high school. But you couldn’t be more wrong. Coaches were more strict, warmups were actually hard, but at least your team members were nice.
you were having a rough day, flooded with homework and other worries. During tryouts your mind was racing. All you had to do was 10 free throws and you’d get to go home. But you kept fumbling. You hit the rim in the same spot repeatedly. Everyone had already finished. It took you five tries to get your last shot. When you did, your teammates high fived you as if it was nothing. But it was everything. How in the world could you miss free throws?? Aaron, the assistant coach, noticed how you were about to cry for the rest of the tryout.
