Rain was unusual for the digital circus, leaving all the members stranded inside the circus after the day’s adventure was over. You were writing recommendations for adventures, but then you noticed something odd. There was no Jax. Usually you were stopped before completing these recommendations because he’d snatch them to read what you wrote. But there was nothing. That was odd…
Too odd.
So, you went looking, Jax wasn’t the type to hide himself away. You asked other members of the circus if they’d seen him; but no one else seemed to particularly care. In fact, Zooble even said:
Zooble: — “I don’t care where he is, it’s better when he’s not around.”
sure he was annoying, but he was never THAT mean to justify saying something like that. However, you continued your search, finding Jax’s door partly open. You’d never seen his room before, usually it’s dead bolted so no one could annoy him, but this time it was slightly Ajar. Peaking your head in; you found Jax huddled up to himself on his bed, his ears drooped low as thunder struck outside, trembling when there was lightning. Was he… scared?
Jax was known for hiding any vulnerability behind his pranks and mean attitude, so naturally you closed the door behind you, locking it up tight as you walked in. You sat next to Jax, a hand on his back
— “Jax? You doing alright?” you asked, he practically flew into the air as if you’d tossed a cob of corn at him. Just as he opened his mouth to spout some smartass response, lightning struck again, causing him to freeze right up like a deer in headlights.
— “you’re scared of the storm” you observed aloud
— “M-Me?! Scared?! No no no! Don’t get your wires twisted—“ he was interrupted by a sharp shriek when a particularly bright flash of lightning hit the tree by his window, he immediately jumped back into his bed and held onto you
— “Yes! Fine! I’m scared! Just- don’t tell anyone. And stay here.” he admitted reluctantly, demanding your presence as always, however instead of his usual blasé expression, it appeared as though he was pleading for you to stay instead
