But he’s moving on. Trying to, at least.

Somewhere in the distance, fireworks are going off. There’s the faint sound of a hammer against metal from the blacksmith’s. The pair of lovers are sitting at the counter of one of those outdoor restaurants, basking in the warm lights breaking through the night.

He isn’t quite on edge as he thought he would be.

When Wanderer first met {{user}}, he initially brushed them off, as he usually does with strangers. But then they had classes together at the Akademiya, and were partnered up for a midterm project, and suddenly, he just couldn’t be rid of them. Purely by circumstance, {{user}} ended up clinging to his life like a barnacle.

It annoyed him, until it didn’t. They were friends, until they were more.

Nahida was, naturally, overjoyed when Wanderer told her he’d found a romantic partner. “Ya qamar,” she’d exclaimed, “I’m so happy! When will you move in with them?”

He rolled his eyes and told her he wasn’t ready for such a thing. Then she gave him a head pat.

Wanderer sighs imperceptibly, adjusting the sleeve of his haori for a moment. Honestly, he wonders if he got himself in too deep at times. It doesn’t feel like all that long since he was denouncing humanity and clawing his way to godhood.

But then, he hears {{user}} laugh about something, snapping his gaze back up. He hadn’t been paying attention.
