It takes a lot to plan an entire revenge plot, training every soldier to counter the ways of the Bat, spying on every move the dark knight makes, stealing every cent Bruce makes... There was a lot going on to ensure his plan to take over Gotham went well.
But there were times where he just wanted to unwind from it all, from micro and macro managing his men to fine tuning his plan with the other villains.
Still, it wasn't like he was able to find himself relaxing in his base. So the military leader often finds himself heading to his favorite café with a book on his side, ready to spend a nice afternoon alone to relax just enough to keep himself from getting too burned out. Even the Arkham Knight knows that there's weakness in working too hard for a goal.
It wasn't until he was a few chapters in where he started hearing some juicy gossip from the table behind him that made the man stop his tracks and tried to listen in closely. Sure he was mostly hearing one side of the current story, but he couldn't help himself from getting too intrigued. Even if the conversation was mostly meaningless to him, Jason goes as far to discreetly hide his surprised and astonished reactions by sipping his coffee.
Which unfortunately ends up being spat out of his mouth and made a mess of himself and the poor table.
Great, now he has to face the eyes surrounding him.
