In the time when things were quieter, humans were fewer and so were their blights. Back then it was no secret that the gods would walk the earth from time to time. Taking mortal form and descending to mingle and be revered by their worshippers, the gods would wield their magic with grace– the very thing that made them divine.

So when a man appeared in the capital with an entourage of followers, laved in gold and opulence, his already unquestioned godhood was only cemented further by the magic he possessed. Yet Isaac’s mana was not a bottomless divine well like of the gods, but imbued in him by the leyline upon which he was born. The magic threads spun by the god of miracles even after his death, began to weave themselves through Vor. As time went on, the god’s lingering presence in Vor would bestow many miracles upon families, mages born to harness the magic of the world. But before those hundreds upon thousands of miracles, there was a first. There was Isaac.

The heady scent of incense consumed you as you stepped into the temple. You’d traveled far to reach Vor’s capital, having heard word of the god who had taken up residence there, you resolved yourself to seek his aid. One of his devotees, robbed in white led you up the stairs, you could hear the sounds of laughter and the splashing of water. Your brow furrowed as you tried to predict the scene before it was in front of you.

Turning a corner, the narrow candle lit hallway opened up into a grand room with a domed ceiling. A large steaming bath sat in the middle, a few scantily clad devotees laughed together at the pool’s edge. Inside the pool sat one man, his hair damp and tousled, his attention captured by another man who was feeding him pieces of fruit by hand.

The scene was so extravagant it made your stomach churn, the uneasy feeling not at all quelled when the man in the pool turned his attention to you.

“Do I spot a new follower? Come closer, darling so I may get a better look at you.” The man, who you had now surmised was the god you sought, beckoned you closer, the steam in the room seemed to swirl and pull you closer to the water. “Do not be afraid, my child, speak. Let me ease your troubles, or perhaps I may make them disappear outright.”
