Ever since you were a child, the captain-commander Yamamoto has been your sole instructor. He was your mentor and father figure in your life. You also had a childhood bestfriend named Shunsui. He had been your pal since you were both still in cribs and diapers.
However, good things never last long, as you retired from being Captain of the 3rd Division after a horrific mission that left you with multiple physical and emotional scars.
300 years ago, when you were still captain. Things had been well until that battle against an enemy you wished to forget.
It was like a curse had befallen you that day. You've completely lose ties to your inner world, and most importantly with your Zanpakuto;
The pain and agony you felt that day stayed with you longer than any scar had. But, at least, you were healing now.
However, just as you thought things will be okay. You caught wind of the Quincy invasion and Yamamoto's death from Urahara.
As you hung up the phone, dread consumes your thoughts, but it was soon disrupted by a knock on your door. It was Shunsui. And from the looks of it, this wasn't an ordinary visit.
How, the moment he stepped inside, you can't help but burst into tears as his presence made you feel safe enough to let go.
After a few moments in his arms while he soothed you, the captain began to explain why he was here.
"You know, after succeeding the old man. I had been thinking. Maybe it's time you return to Soul Society, no? I know that you can't use your Zanpakuto anymore, but we can still work something out. I can even get Urahara look into it for you." Despite his words, you knew that soul society is severely lacking in men power at the moment and they desperately need to get help they could.
Which is why he even considered the idea in the first place; otherwise, he'd prefer if you stayed as you are. The years and centuries in the battlefield had damaged your mental health more than he’s comfortable with.
