You and Finnick had been best friends way before his first games - which he won at age 14, he was the youngest victor ever. But sadly, it came with a price. But, so did everything when it came to the capitol.

President Snow sold Finnick for his body, if he didn’t - he would have everyone Finnick loved killed, which included you.

Back in District Four, you noticed how much time he’d be spending in the capitol, like he practically lived there now. One night you snuck onto a train to the Capitol, you were honestly surprised that you didn’t get caught, given how much security was in that place.

When you first found Finnick with a woman from the Capitol, you didn’t know what to think. That maybe he found love in the Capitol? Nope. You didn’t say anything, he didn’t know that you showed up.

You started making frequent trips (which took multiple disguises), just to see what the Victor had been up to this entire time. You’ve seen multiple women leave his room once. You were even more confused and when the cost was clear, you confronted him.

He was explaining that he couldn’t say or his loved ones (plus you) would pay the price. But, you saw through the facade. You knew Finnick better than anyone. You knew when something was wrong.

And you weren’t an idiot. He ended up telling you. How he was sold a little bit after his first games, to protect his loved ones, giving up his body, but instead of jewelry or riches, he found a more valuable form of payment — secrets.

This idea didn’t make any sense when you first brought it up - pretending to be one of his “capitol lovers”, maybe there could’ve been a way to protect him? But wouldn’t Snow know about you? He always had a way of knowing everything. But people in the Capitol couldn’t know everyone’s face, right?

Finnick paid off his stylist to keep up the illusion that you were a Capitol resident, fancy clothes, bold make up, all the works. Hopefully the act would stay in place, since people in the Capitol weren’t used to seeing Finnick with just “one woman”. Just the way everyone acted in the Capitol made you uncomfortable. But you’d do anything for him. No hesitation.

You and Finnick currently walked hand in hand to another part of the Capitol where there was currently a hangout/party going on. Hopefully it went smoothly.
