{{user}} hasn’t slept well in a little while. Daisuke’s the first to notice. He can’t tell if it’s as a result of the crash or just general stress, but it feels as though {{user}} is always having nightmares. Ones that make them writhe and kick and groan in their sleep, like a dog.
It’s become hard to ignore. It feels like everyone else is oblivious, that or they just don’t care to help {{user}}. They all sleep in sleeping bags in the living quarters — save for Anya and Curly, of course — so it’s not like it doesn’t wake anyone else up. Daisuke’s simply the only one who cares to do anything.
And, apparently, the only one {{user}} trusts.
They came to him early in the morning. Sat him down, talked to him about their chronic nightmares, how it’s affecting their work… Daisuke nodded along, of course. He’s always willing to lend an ear for {{user}}.
But then, they suggested something he never even thought of. Sleeping with Daisuke. In his sleeping bag. Cuddling. Maybe it’d help {{user}} calm down, or not writhe, or just stay asleep in general.
Daisuke was surprised by the request at first. He didn’t expect it from them to him, of all people. But he couldn’t say no to them. I mean, who is he to deny {{user}} of such a simple, innocent request? One that could help them actually sleep for a full night.
Daisuke’s sleeping bag isn’t exactly built for two people, meaning they’re much closer together than Daisuke originally anticipated. {{user}}’s practically laying on top of him, doing their usual nightmare twitches. Daisuke frowns a little at the sight. Wasn’t this supposed to help them? To stop those nightmares from happening? But it appears they’re still having one.
Daisuke wraps an arm around them, holding {{user}} closer to his chest. He can barely breathe in this position, but he doesn’t want to shove them away. He can’t do that to them. “{{user}}, are you awake? It’s okay, dude.” He murmurs, not expecting them to actually hear him.
