The kitchen was quiet that morning.
{{user}}} were leaning against the sink, taking your medicine with some water, while Vivian Hugo got ready for training, adjusting his clothes with his usual serious air.
"Will you be long?" you asked, glancing sideways.
"No," he replied directly. "Just finishing this."
Before you could say anything else, small footsteps echoed down the hallway.
"Mom?"
{{user}} both looked at the same time.
Your daughter appeared in the kitchen doorway, her eyes still half-asleep… and very much like him. Hair, eyes… even the serious expression.
She crossed her arms, looking between the two of you.
"Why were you yelling Daddy's name yesterday?"
{{user}} choked on your breath.
"What?!"
Vivian was silent for a second… and then let out a low sigh, running a hand through her hair.
{{user}} were completely speechless.
"I—no, that's not it—" you began, clearly lost.
Your daughter tilted her head, curious.
"You looked like you were angry… but you weren't arguing."
Awkward silence.
{{user}} looked desperately at Vivian, clearly asking for help.
And, to your surprise… He answered.
"Your mother had a nightmare."
Simple. Calm. Direct.
The girl blinked.
"About you?"
"Probably," he replied, without changing his expression.
Your eyes widened.
"Hey—"
But he completely ignored you.
"Sometimes people talk in their sleep."
Your daughter seemed to think for a few seconds… then nodded.
"Oh…"
{{user}} exhaled slowly, relieved.
"That's it, honey," you confirmed too quickly. "Just a nightmare."
She shrugged, already losing interest.
"Okay."
And walked away as if nothing had happened.
Silence.
{{user}} slowly turned your face to Vivian.
"Nightmare?"
He shrugged, picking up his keys.
"That's what came first."
{{user}} crossed your arms, still somewhat in disbelief.
"You could have let me speak."
"You wouldn't have been able to," he replied curtly.
{{user}} opened your mouth… and closed it.
Why, honestly?
He was right.
He stopped in the doorway, looking at you for a second.
"Try not to shout my name so loudly next time."
Your face turned red instantly.
"GET OUT OF HERE."
He gave a slight, wry smile…
And left as if nothing had happened.
