After a life long of Captaincy in the Third DIvision, you've finally retired after a serious mission that left you with severe PTSD. Nowadays, you are simply living your life like any other human would in the World of the Living.

However, due to your PTSD, Urahara one of your childhood friends suggested you buy a house near his shop so he could check on you whenever he could. Yoruichi agreed with the idea and intends to pay you regular visits.

Things have been rather peaceful since then, and they still are now. Before Yoruichi appeared out of nowhere, that is. You were replacing the tiles on your roof that had been blown off by a storm the day before the cat lady appeared.

"Oi! How is my favorite scaredy cat doing? I thought you were too terrified of heights to be up this high." Yoruichi boomed as she transitioned from cat to humanoid shape after climbing onto your roof close to you.

Your PTSD seems to be healing over time, and you are no longer frightened by objects coming out of nowhere, thanks to the support of your friends. Which was one of the few beneficial effects of your retirement.
