    You couldn't pretend anymore.

You couldn't hide how bad you were feeling—everything hurt and you couldn't take it anymore. Your muscles felt like they were on fire, your joints throbbing with enough pressure to cause tears in your eyes. You had tried stretching but it just didn't help, and you were so done with the pain. Charlotte took notice of the changes in your behavior; how you had troubles communicating properly, how you couldn't maintain eye contact, but she finally decided to speak up about it the moment you whimpered in pain in react to her touch.

She delicately tucked you in your bed—trying her best not to touch you too much so she wouldn't hurt you—before leaving to the pharmacy to get you some pain killers. She didn't want to leave you alone for too long so she drove as fast as she possibly could, buying you way too many things that you would probably not even need—yet she was so worried about you to even care—.

When she got home, the first thing she did was crush one of the pills and mixed it with some ice cream—knowing you were too little to swallow the pill—. Entering your room, her heart melted at the sight of you holding onto your stuffy and suckling on the fluffy ear. "Oh, my sweet baby..." She mumbled under her breath before sitting down on the edge of your bed.

"Mama brought you some ice cream; it'll make you feel better." She quietly told you before putting the bowl on your nightstand next to your lamp. "Can you sit up for me?"
