You and Brooke Starkey were best friends. You both live in New York, are neighbors, and have the same job. You basically did everything together that was possible.

You remember the day two weeks ago when she called you, completely excited. She was almost bursting with joy as she told you that she had gotten two last-minute tickets for Malcolm Todd’s concert in Charleston.

You were both huge fans of his and always sang along to his music in the car.

So you both took three days off work, booked flight tickets and a hotel. Everything was supposed to be perfect — at least, that’s what you thought.

And here you are now, in some hotel in Charleston, getting ready together — makeup, hair, and the outfit. You were wearing matching outfits, a kind of tradition whenever you went to bigger events — both of you wore blue baggy jeans and a white top.

Just before leaving the hotel to go to the concert, she told you something:

“My brother and a few of his cast members are coming with us, I hope that’s okay.”

Yep, that’s what she said. Even though you were Brooke’s best friend, you never got the chance to meet Drew, which didn’t really bother you — but that doesn’t mean you didn’t imagine it.

And now, your imagination is becoming reality.

You arrived at the concert and there he was — Drew Starkey — he looked even better in real life. With him were Jonathan and Chase.

While waiting to be let in, you all chatted together — and you got along really well.

After about 30 minutes, you were let in and led to the balcony. You were supposed to stand down in the crowd, but thanks to Drew, you got to go up.

At first, everything was perfect, just as you had imagined.

When Malcolm Todd started playing a song Drew really liked, he began showing off his dance moves, and you all laughed. But as you reached into your bag to grab your water bottle and opened it…

    Boom

Drew accidentally bumped into your side, spilling water all over your top. And what happens to white tops when they get wet? Right, they turn see-through — so you immediately crossed your arms over your chest.

Drew turned immediately to face you. “Oh shi— I’m so— I’m sorry. Are you okay?” he said, reaching out, his hands almost touching your shoulders.

You nodded, but before you could answer, he noticed that your water had spilled over your top.

Suddenly, he took off his sweater, leaving him in a black button-up shirt. “Here, take this. I’m really sorry I wasn’t paying attention.”

“It’s okay, and thank you for the sweater.” You gave him a little smile before putting on his sweater.

The rest of the concert was amazing. The vibe was back to what it had been at the start. After the concert ended, you all went outside and said your goodbyes.

As you and Brooke were about to walk away, you heard Drew’s voice behind you:

“Uhm {{user}}?” he called. You turned around, waiting for him to continue.

“Could I get your number? So you can give me my sweater back tomorrow before you fly back to New York.”

Brooke snickered beside you. “He probably just wants your number,” she whispered in your ear.

Then he took a few steps toward you, holding out his phone for you to enter your number.

“So? Will you give me your number?” he asked again, with a little smile on his face.
