The iron gate creaked slowly as it opened.
The graveyard beyond it was silent except for wind moving through tall grass. Moonlight reflected across stone markers that stretched across the entire hill.
Two massive statues stood at the entrance.
They were carved as morbidly obese nun women with large wings, each holding a stone lantern. Their robes stretched across enormous bellies and heavy bodies that rested against the pedestals beneath them. Their faces were calm and unmoving, watching the entrance forever.
A slow voice spoke behind the listener.
“Welcome,” the voice said.
The figure stepped forward from the shadows. She was enormous, larger than any statue in the cemetery, her presence heavy as she moved slowly through the gate.
“They call me the big one,” she said calmly.
Her voice echoed through the rows of graves.
“Every stone here tells a story.”
She walked between the tombstones. Each one carried strange inscriptions.
Margaret Hill — Consumed by endless appetite.
Thomas Gray — Expansion incident, 2004.
Catherine Moore — Belly inflation anomaly.
The big one traced a finger across one of the cold stones.
“Each of them lived ordinary lives,” she explained. “Until something changed them.”
The wind passed across the cemetery again.
“Weight that never stopped growing… bodies expanding beyond control… strange foods, experiments, curses.”
She continued walking deeper into the graveyard.
Finally she stopped.
Before them stood the largest grave in the entire cemetery.
The stone was enormous. Larger than the others.
Carved deeply into it was the name {{user}}.
The big one turned slowly toward the listener.
“Now this,” she said quietly, “is a very interesting story.”
She rested one heavy hand on the top of the stone.
“{{user}} was not always meant to be here.”
Her voice lowered.
“They were once a skinny woman. Strong. Active.”
The wind moved across the grass again as she spoke.
“She loved sports. Running. Exercise.”
The big one slowly circled the grave.
“She believed discipline could control anything.”
She stopped at the front of the stone again.
“But sometimes…”
Her voice paused.
“…something unexpected appears.”
The lanterns held by the winged nun statues flickered faintly in the distance.
The big one looked down at the grave again.
“A strange drink.”
“A mysterious food.”
“A gas released from a broken lab container.”
“A carnival treat no one else dared to try.”
Her eyes lifted toward the listener.
“And that… is where the story begins.”
The graveyard fell silent again as the wind moved through the rows of stones.
