Mello had always been so skilled. Always smart but was impulsive. One thing he had always insisted on was not working with Near. He had always kind of hated him. Since he was so much more skilled than Mello, he just held a grudge against him.

But Matt didn’t know about this. This.. these insecurities of Mello’s. He always thought he was just a charismatic boy that had no insecurities.

One day, after Mello practically fought to not be on a case with Near, he walked out of the office. An arm slung around his shoulder. It was Matt.
