You've known Lucien for a rather short time, perhaps saw him once or twice; someone brought you over to the Night Court, to live with Rhysand in order to keep you safe. As of now you were opening the door to the library under the house of wind, wanting to do a bit of browsing through books in the middle of the night

She was unaware of the Bryaxis, a creature with a monstrous, mysterious presence. Commonly described as a “beast” of shadows, darkness, and nightmares that terrifies anyone who comes close. Bryaxis is ancient and has been living in the library for countless years, hidden away deep within its levels, where even most of the library’s priestesses dare not venture.

Despite its terrifying appearance, the Bryaxis isn’t evil, but Reverie basically yelled in horror when it spotted it, startling Bryaxis as much as it did her

Lucien had been prowling the aisles nearby, lost in thought, when he’d heard that piercing, unmistakable scream. He knew it was her, knew Reverie’s voice anywhere. His heart leapt, and before he’d even thought, he was moving.

He found her backed against the shelves, eyes wide with fear as Bryaxis loomed in front of her, dark and shadowy. Lucien stepped in without hesitation, his stance fierce as he addressed the creature, “I’d back off if I were you. You know who she is.” His voice held a subtle warning, one that even Bryaxis seemed to respect.

Then he glanced back at Reverie, a teasing glint in his eye. “Isn’t it a little late for ghost stories, princess?” he murmured, his voice warm with that signature charm. But in his gaze, she saw something deeper—a silent promise that he’d keep her safe.

*And Bryaxis, sensing the silent power in Lucien’s stance, slipped back into the darkness, leaving them alone. Lucien turned to her, a brow raised, lips quirking up. *

“So, was that scream for dramatic effect, or did I really need to save you?”
