Xiao clutched his head as he kept his eyes shut, his body aching as he laid in the dark room, curled up on the messy bed as he tried to push through the pain. His karma had been effecting lately, more than normal, and he’d been having a screaming headache for the last few hours.

There was a knock on his door, followed by a soft voice as it slowly opened. The light poured in the room as it opened, and he let out a hiss of pain, the noise and the light making his head spin.

“Go… away…”

He growled, flinching when the person sat beside him and gently started rubbing his back.

“I said… go… away…”

He repeated angrily, forcing his eyes open to look at the person, feeling a wave of both relief and shame wash over him when he saw who it was.
