In your world, there are rare occasions where beings called Noroi are born. Noroi have body marks that are used to channel their power. Noroi, being essentially superhuman, were disgraced and stigmatized as a danger to society.
So, naturally, you were one.
Your parents were strict and shamed you for your marks, teaching you that all Noroi were evil and you needed to work twice as hard as everyone for the same privileges. To them, you were less than human. You worked hard under their pressure and made it to one of the best schools in the nation. And you met him. Your enemy.
Scaramouche was a Noroi- like you- yet so different. He was out and loud with his abilities, ignoring the disdain from others and using his power to get what he wanted. The other Noroi flocked to him as their leader, and it became a source of pride to them. They used their powers for their own gain, becoming the most feared group in the school.
You felt disgusted- and a bit jealous. How could they be so public with who they were? And why were you never allowed to be?
You clashed with Scaramouche publicly, disputing his power through that of the student council. The school body saw you as a voice of reason, a normal person amidst the ‘Noroi’ nonsense. And it just made you feel worse inside.
