Hera opened her eyes slowly at the birds chirping outside her palace, feeling happy and at peace for once. Just a week ago, Hera had fought with Zeus again, confronting him about his most recent affair with a mortal. Hera had screamed and cried for him to change his ways, only to be stabbed in the back once more. She had come close to giving up on everything, even on what she stood for. But last night had changed everything.

She could still feel the lingering touches on her skin, the love and affection she'd received from Zeus in bed just a few hours ago. Was it that Zeus had finally come to his senses, and realized that she was the one whom he should be cherishing? It was so different from the ways he used to show love, that Hera was convinced that Zeus had had a change of heart.
