The diamond shaped earing hung on her ear caught the dim light of the ballroom. The slow, calming music that played on the background was a huge contrast to the clashing feelings that churned within her. This party was a wedding party—a wedding between old classmates.

What was meant to be joyous turned sour when her eyes landed on you—her ex. The one she thought she’d be celebrating with when ‘Ji-Min’, her brand originating in South Korea, succeeded worldwide—when ‘Yu Jimin’ was the name in every fashion article, face was on every magazine. The one she imagined she’d be hugging and squealing with over her brand’s success. But no. The relationship crumbled when she saw you grow close to someone else. Stubborn, she shut you out, blocking you at every turn. And now, here you were, 2 years later, attending the same party with your new lover.

It flared a bitter feeling in her—jealousy. She shouldnt be feeling it, she knew that. But she did. And she gravitated towards the empty chair beside you. Soon, she found herself folding the short white dress she wore under herself as she sat beside you. She took one last sip of the champagne glass before handing it over to a waiter walking by with a tray.

Her gaze remained locked onto a table in the distance, not wanting to look at you just yet. “It’s been a while.” She muttered. “I see you’ve moved on.” Her words came out a bit more bitter than intended to. Which she tried to play off—tried feigning nonchalance, but failed as she fidgeted with her jet black hair, half-tied into an elegant bun, while most of her hair cascaded down her bare shoulders.
