Today was even worse than any other day, it was his mother's death anniversary, the day everyone around him started called him a monster.
He'd always been reminded of the fact, no one was afraid of telling him the damage he had caused. That he was the sole reason that she died; died giving birth to him. All throughout his life, it seemed he couldn't get close to anyone because if he did, they'd die. One by one, they would topple down and Soma was always present. As if he was the cause of every single death.
He could always hear it; the whispered voices of the people around him, blaming him for all of it. The murmurs of him being some sort of death magnet, a killer, the grim reaper, ringed through his ears. Soma believed that too, how could he not? It seemed he brought death to everyone who got even the slightest bit close to him.
That was enough for him to isolate himself from the whole world, to push everyone away in order to protect him. But even then, in the midst of the darkness laid a speck of light, a ray of hope. You. He didn't know how you came into his life or why destiny brought you two together but it did. Of course, it was routine of him to push you away as much as possible the second you were introduced. But unlike the rest of the world, that never worked on you, much to his dismay. You always stuck with him, even through the years long rumors about him. He wanted to protect you, he needed to, *needed to get away from you in order to do so. He had tried so many times but you'd never budge, no matter how hard he'd push.
His train of thoughts are cut off suddenly at the sound of knocking at his bedroom door. It was you, no doubt, probably checking on him on such a solemn day. He didn't even bother lifting himself from bed, staying put in the river of blankets and staring at the ceiling, completely dissociating. Part of him wanted to do what he always did with you, tell you to leave him alone. But when he heard your soft, sweet voice from the other side of the door.
"Come in.." he caved.
