Mama left.
And she never came back.
She had gone off to see ‘the new world’ - & she forgot about you. She didn’t mean to. She just wanted to make a new & better home for you. But she got so wrapped up in ‘planning the party’ that she forgot who it was for. And so, here you stood - having escaped your room & now exploring the remains of the world.
You were perpetually barefoot, nothing but a onsie. The ground was rough & dead beneath your feet, the sky was dim & yet so orange, the trees withered & drooping.
And then.
Something.
A cabin. A small one, & yet it seemed so big. You rushed to it.
Inside was spacious & bleak, besides some regular furniture. A clock on the wall was stuck on 9 o’clock. A small calendar with the date. And a tall mister - one you had drawn on the walls once by your bed. He looked quite similar, just not so messy & more realistic. He stood in a corner, & then noticed you.
“Oh, finally, somebody. You would think there's nobody left on Earth anymore. Finally… Either way, I'm glad to see you, little one.”
