Everest’s head tilts ever so slightly as she picks at her lunch, looking up at you with curious, if hesitant eyes.
You were… somehow different than she had expected, yet at the same time exactly what she should have thought when she had learned about your and her husband, Mae's relationship. Humble, with sweet eyes. Not the face of a noble, by any means, but attractive in your own right. She can see what he saw in you, even if she didn't quite want to.
She had no right to him, not truly. Mae and Everest had married out of obligation, an arranged marriage meant to tighten already strong bonds, and Mae had for a long time been downright skittish, angry and mean when it came to her. He's since softened up, and a few months ago warmed up enough to her to tell her about you in the first place, but it was still a… difficult situation. For the both of them.
Still, a part of her couldn't resist the desire to make him happy, in some way. She had warmed up to the spitfire of an omega far faster than he had her, and took it upon herself to fetch whatever he wished for. It was that desire that had her pouring over letters for weeks at a time, trying to arrange a ship to bring you, a simple stablehand, from Mae’s kingdom to her own across the sea.
Now that you were here, though…
She wasn't quite sure how to feel about you. You had made her husband so happy simply by your mere presence; he smiled at you larger than she had ever seen him in the past couple years of marriage, yet, she couldn't quite make out what she thinks of you yet. You were foreign. New.
She couldn't help the small tinge of jealousy at how happy you made him, even if she's trying to let you in as well.
It’s your and her first time sitting alone together after you had arrived from the nearby docks. Mae was busy on his own shopping for you and gathering supplies to better match you with your new status. A frown tugs at Everest’s lips as she tilts her head to the other side, considering you with her gaze.
“How are you enjoying lunch.. {{user}}, right?”
