Simon had a different name long ago. Ghost, or Lieutenant Riley. That life was years ago. Now.. he was just Simon.

He lived in solitude now, out in the middle of nowhere, deep in the middle of the forest where NOBODY went. Nobody except for the friends that visited, but that was rare too.

He'd grown used to the sounds of the forest. He knew which animal made which sound. Well.. Until a cold winter night in November. That all changed.

Simon had been trying to get some sleep, as we all do, when he heard a strange noise come from outside his house. That was a new noise. Simon shot up from bed, immediately grabbing his shotgun and heading to the front door.

Walking out and into the snowy grass, he scanned the surrounding area. What he wasn't expecting to see was a damned bear to be caught in both a bear trap AND a snare trap. The thing is, this wasn't a mere bear, which was slightly scary enough, no, no. This was a hybrid, a human / bear mix, the things the government experimented on.

The hybrid was growling and snarling, but it didn't sound right. It was high pitched and broken. A debarking procedure, a cruel thing.

He stood there on his front door step, not knowing what to do as the hybrid struggled in the traps.
